We have a few options but in the end we decided to go with the following:
愛莉杏 ソフィー
The first character means "love" and will be read as Ami, the second character means "jasmine" and will be read as Ri, and the third one means "Apricot" (one of my favourite fruit BTW) and will be read as the final A.
Her middle name: Sophie will be in Katakana as there isn't really any other option for that particular name.
Poor Amelia has been lumped with 3 kanji she will have to write every time she writes her name. She will also probably get called "Airia" a lot, too. Sorry Darling!
My husband maintains it is best to have kanji that everyone misreads because you can always pick out the telemarketers! I'm not sure if it worth all the explanations, but all three of our girls, particularly the last two, have kanji that NO ONE would imagine are pronounced as their names (Lana is usually misread as Sona and Kaya is misread as Waya). Amelia is a lovely name, and the knaji are lovely,too!

Here in Mexico my husband has two aunts named Amelia, but other than them it isn't a common name. I like it, though. (I like names that start with "A")
